The scholarship recognizes individuals who are creating measurable impact in areas including decarbonization, biodiversity conservation, and social performance. It reflects ICMM’s commitment to transforming the mining industry into a more sustainable and responsible sector, particularly as the global transition to a net-zero economy increases demand for critical minerals. At the same time, the initiative aligns with One Young World’s broader mission of empowering young leaders to tackle pressing global issues through collaboration, innovation, and leadership development.
Selected scholars are provided with the opportunity to participate in the One Young World Summit 2026, a globally recognized platform that brings together thousands of young leaders from diverse backgrounds. During the summit, participants engage in high-level discussions, leadership training, and networking with global influencers, policymakers, and industry experts. Scholars also gain access to exclusive mentoring opportunities, including direct engagement with ICMM leadership, which enhances their capacity to scale their impact.
