The Skoll Scholarship empowers social entrepreneurs and impact professionals who have launched ventures or led initiatives addressing social or environmental challenges. It provides them with the business education needed to effectively scale their impact. Hosted at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and in partnership with the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, the scholarship offers full MBA tuition and partial living expenses, funded by the Skoll Foundation.

Recipients of the scholarship join a vibrant global network of innovators, leading thinkers, and investors, gaining access to Oxford’s academic, research, and entrepreneurial resources. This includes initiatives from the Skoll Centre, the Map the System challenge, and the Skoll World Forum.
Scholarship recipients are expected to contribute to the Skoll ecosystem during and after their MBA by acting as ambassadors, mentoring peers, recruiting future scholars, serving on alumni boards, or engaging with media. Since its inception, the program has supported over 80 scholars from more than 23 nationalities, fostering lifelong connections and professional growth within the Skoll community. The scholarship recognizes the financial strain of obtaining an MBA, especially for those committed to social innovation, and provides tailored support to help amplify impact through systemic change.

Applicants must demonstrate a sustained record of entrepreneurial impact, having at least three years of experience leading a social venture or initiative that drives visible and sustainable solutions. Candidates should show evidence of persistence, risk-taking, resourcefulness, and a collaborative spirit, along with a personal connection to their area of impact. They must clearly articulate how an Oxford MBA will advance their social change goals, demonstrate financial need, and contribute to diversity, with women, underrepresented groups, and candidates from the Global South particularly encouraged to apply. While tuition is fully covered, the living stipend is partial, designed to be sufficient for modest living during the one-year program.
To apply for the Skoll Scholarship, candidates must first submit their application for the Oxford MBA through Saïd Business School during any of the four admissions rounds, with earlier applications generally increasing the chance of scholarship consideration. The application deadlines are as follows: Stage 1 on Monday, 1 September 2025; Stage 2 on Wednesday, 1 October 2025; Stage 3 on Monday, 3 November 2025; and Stage 4 on Wednesday, 7 January 2026. Applicants should include their Skoll Scholarship essays in the “Funding” section of the MBA application. If accepted to the MBA, the application is forwarded to the Skoll Scholarship Selection Committee. Shortlisted candidates receive a Logistics and Reference Form from the Skoll Centre and may proceed to online interviews. Final selection is conducted through online interviews, with decisions typically announced following the MBA admissions cycle.
