Think Big is the University of Bristol’s flagship scholarship scheme, providing funding towards tuition fees for international students studying eligible undergraduate or postgraduate courses. Think Big undergraduate scholarships are valued at £6,500 and £13,000 for up to four years of study, and Think Big postgraduate scholarships are valued at £6,500, £13,000 and £26,000 for your first year of study. The Think Big Scholarship scheme has partnered with faculties, alumni and external partners to offer a wide range of scholarships in addition to the central Think Big undergraduate and postgraduate awards.

To be eligible for the University’s undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships, you must have applied for a full-time in-person undergraduate course at the University of Bristol and be an overseas student for fee-paying purposes. The scholarship recipients are to be ambassadors of the university. They also expect them to engage in full with Think Big Development Programme whenever possible. Scholars may take part in events or promotional activities other than the Think Big Development Programme. However, they must uphold their values and reputation.
Scholarship awards are valid for entry in September 2026 only. Recipients cannot defer them to a later year. Before beginning the scholarship application form, one must have completed these steps:
- Submitted an application to study at the University of Bristol
- Received their application ID (this will be a Student ID, Kaplan ID or UCAS ID)
- Prepared their scholarship application answers

Eligibilities
- To be eligible for the University’s undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships, applicants must:
- have applied for a full-time, in-person undergraduate course and any full-time, in-person master’s programme at the University of Bristol.
- be an international student for fee-paying purposes
- have received an offer to study at the University of Bristol before Friday 24 April 2026
- meet or exceed the entry requirements as stated by the University of Bristol.
