The third edition of the BIC Africa Acceleration Programme for Woman Entrepreneurs is now open for applications, which will support 15 women entrepreneurs from Angola, Comoros, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Somalia, and 5 others from other African countries willing to scale their businesses while contributing to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
BIC Africa is looking for women entrepreneurs addressing one or more Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and who are willing to explore growing their innovative solutions with the support of the BIC Africa Acceleration Programme.
BIC Africa is a regional network that aims to support selected business incubators (BIs) in Africa to excel and spark a wide impact on society. BIC Africa helps BIs benefit from the exchanges and cooperation with other initiatives, improves the connection between European and African innovation hubs to develop international collaboration, explores business opportunities with European companies, and ensures the quality standards are respected in all supported incubators
BIC Africa’s objectives are to set up a Europe-Africa Coordination Office & Regional Network, build Better connections and synergies between actors of the regional ecosystem, Build the capacity of local Business Incubators and their client companies, Establish an improved understanding of the state-of-the-art of the business incubation, Establishing and reinforcing a quality label for African business support organizations, Building a committee of experts overseeing the creation of a certification system, and supporting Communication, dissemination and outreach activities to create a strong brand for the Regional Network.
Successful start-ups and small companies, need equally strong business support actors to achieve their goals. EACO facilitates the activities of BIC Africa in Angola, Ethiopia, Madagascar, and Somalia. BIC Africa works to stimulate knowledge sharing among the wider incubation ecosystem for business incubators to benefit from cooperation with other initiatives, collaborations between innovation hubs, and shared business opportunities in Europe and Africa to excel and spark a wide impact on society.

Eligibilities
- Must be a woman (minimum age of 18 years old) founder or owner of an already existing business with strong development potential, or an entrepreneur working on a project idea aimed to create a business with high growth potential.
- Aligned with at least one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality and spur economic growth.
- Must be available between May and September 2023 to participate in the Programme with a maximum of 2 hours per week for online sessions + time to work individually and reflect upon the learnings.
- Already running a start-up /project and seeking to scale up.
- Demonstrate a commitment to participating in all the activities of the Acceleration Programme and assisting in future developments of the programme.
- Must have access to a reliable internet connection.
- Have a good working knowledge of the English language.
