Bayer Foundation offers scientific fellowships for outstanding master, PhD, and medical students to pursue international research projects, internships, and more, providing additional funding for international placements to enhance their study programs.

Bayer Foundation Fellowships are designed to enhance existing study programs (MSc, PhD, and medicine) by providing additional funding for international placements or research activities that are complementary to current or future scientific studies/the next study program.
- Students who are enrolled outside of Germany must undertake placement within Germany.
- Students who are enrolled at a German university must undertake placements outside of
Germany. - Fellowships cannot be undertaken at commercial organizations (i.e. in industry).
Applicants are eligible for up to €10,000 in funding and can undertake fellowships for up to six months. The fellowship can be used for research projects, internships and more. People studying in Germany must undertake placements in a second country and those studying outside Germany must undertake their fellowships at a German research institution.

Applications must be made in English and all documents must be uploaded in English. An initial screen of applications will be made by the Bayer Foundation to ensure they are complete, and the application criteria are fulfilled. Applications will then be evaluated by an independent jury of scientists.
They strongly encourage interdisciplinary and/or collaborative research projects and projects that contribute to the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals defined by the United Nations. There will be several categories of fellowships. They are:
- Drug Discovery Sciences Fellowships
- Agricultural Sciences Fellowships
- Medical Sciences Fellowships
- Climate and Health Fellowships
All areas of natural science & data science with relevance to pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare (over-the-counter OTC) & crop science industries; pharmacy; human & veterinary medicine; applied medical sciences; medical engineering & public health are supported.
Through their fellowships, they aim to provide exceptional individuals unique opportunities to become the boundary-breakers of tomorrow by developing essential skills, gaining new perspectives, and building important relationships around the globe.

Eligibilities
- Currently studying a MSc, PhD, medical degree or equivalent.
- Bachelor students and postdoctoral researchers are not eligible.
- Students who will have completed their doctoral studies (defense of thesis) prior to the conclusion of the proposed fellowship are also not eligible.
- Very good to excellent bachelor and/or master studies in a scientific discipline or very good to excellent medicals studies up to the current date.

- Applicants are required to complete the application process through the “apply link” given with necessary informations and following documents:
- One letter of support/ acceptance from your self-selected host institute
- Two letters of recommendation (including one from a current and/or previous direct supervisor at your home institute)
- Certificates
- Transcripts
- 1 minute video
- If relevant, one acceptance letter of your next studies
