Part of this enhancement is offering a new Master of Science (Project – Based) program through which students can earn a Master of Science degree in a specific topic in one year, one and a half years, or two years.

The University encourages its graduating students to participate in this program immediately after their graduation, as it will give them a clear edge in the workplace, especially as these graduate degrees are generally aligned with the undergraduate concentrations (but the concentrations are not required for them). These Master of Science programs are also available to students who have worked in the industry and desire to specialize in any of the fields offered, and to students who obtained a Bachelor’s degree from a university other than KFUPM.
This is a full-time program and condensed, which generally will run during the week with students in full attendance, but with evening classes. However, depending on the specific programs, some are offered over two years with a more relaxed schedule, and some in the HIVE environment, with split virtual and in-residence attendance. The program is designed for students who have completed their bachelor’s degrees but have not yet transitioned into full employment, or for those who have started their employment but desire to advance their career through further specialization in the offered fields. It is not considered a part-time program.
Each degree consists of 30 credit hours, including one project of six credit hours. It requires no thesis. These programs are particularly industry-focused, also providing a pathway to an eventual Ph.D. degree.

Eligibilities
General Requirements:
- A recognized Bachelor’s degree
- GPA of 2.5+ out of 4.0 or equivalent
- IELTS score of 6+ or TOEFL score of 70+ or Duolingo score of 105+. Waived for KFUPM graduates and Graduates from English Speaking Countries (USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand)

Required Documents:
- Copy of the official undergraduate transcript for the Bachelor of Science (BS) degree.
- Copy of BS Degree Certificate.
- Two Letters of Recommendation: Enter your recommenders’ names and professional emails in the application. They will receive a link to submit their letters directly.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) / Résumé
- Copy of Identification
- Copy of the official English Test Score
- Statement-of-Purpose (a one-page essay focusing on career and research goals)
- Short introductory video, maximum 2 minutes, addressing who you are and why you are applying to this program.
- Non-refundable processing fee of SAR 100 + VAT
