Call for The World Literacy Foundation’s Youth Ambassador Program 2026 is open now!!!
The World Literacy Foundation’s Youth Ambassador Program is a global community that is built on Youth Power for Literacy. They empower youth aged 16–25 to lead, connect globally, and take action.
They firmly believe that young people’s voices, vision, and drive are essential to tackling illiteracy. From June to September 2026, they will empower 1000 passionate young leaders from 60 countries to become local leaders for literacy and unite in a global effort to ensure every child has the opportunity for literacy.
Get the Youth Opportunities iOS App here for the fully-funded opportunities.
Through dynamic, youth-led online modules, creative collaboration, and hands-on advocacy, these 1000 Ambassadors will become literacy advocates, activists, and community organisers in their own neighbourhoods and beyond. Each participant will discover what it truly means to spark meaningful change-on a local and global level.
Why become a WLF Ambassador?
The program consists of seven self-paced training modules delivered through our e-learning platform. They allow two weeks for each module. Throughout the program, Ambassadors are required to work on fundraising projects in their own community. By the end of the course, applicants are required to complete a final report to assess your progress.
Youth Opportunities invites you to join your preferred channel to get the latest updates directly to your messenger inbox.

Only ambassadors who organize and carry out a fundraising activity in support of one of our literacy projects will be eligible to receive a Recommendation Letter from the World Literacy Foundation.
The WLF Ambassador program is not a paid position in the organization and is not a job opportunity. The program is a platform to develop applicant’s leadership skills and cooperate with other literacy advocates around the globe to help raise awareness about illiteracy in the world.
The 3-month program will be delivered online. Applicants are not required to travel or attend any on-site events. They will need access to a computer and a good internet connection.
Every year, the WLF Ambassador Program supports one of the organization’s literacy projects. All funds and advocacy efforts will go towards a nominated project selected by the ambassadors
