EJN’s Business and Climate Media Initiative’s workshop brings together experts and experienced journalists to examine the most common climate interventions used by the business sector in Thailand. The workshop will also introduce the policy framework and business context of these initiatives, examine their role in Thailand’s net-zero efforts, and showcase examples of investigative reporting that have helped raise accountability and transparency.

After the workshop, participants are expected to develop a deeper understanding of how businesses contribute to Thailand’s transition toward net-zero emissions. They will explore four key climate interventions increasingly applied in the country: renewable energy (including electric vehicles), carbon credit markets, ESG due diligence, and green financial products. Through case studies presented by EJN-supported journalists and partner newsrooms in Thailand and abroad, participants will gain practical insights and reporting tools to strengthen evidence-based stories on the private sector’s role in advancing a low-carbon economy. Following the workshop, they will also be invited to pitch story ideas for a grant award that supports in-depth reporting on how businesses are addressing net-zero emissions.
The program plans to select 30 participants for a virtual workshop that will be held on Zoom across four mornings: June 23, 25, 30, and July 2, 2026. Sessions will run twice a week, each lasting about 2 to 2.5 hours, with most conducted in Thai and English–Thai simultaneous interpretation provided for those delivered in English.
Participants who attend all sessions will receive a certificate of completion from EJN and will be eligible to apply for a story grant to support in-depth journalistic reporting. Up to 10 journalists will be awarded grants of EUR 1,500 each, with further details shared during the workshop.
