Turkey Scholarships is a government-funded higher education scholarship program provided by the Republic of Turkey for international students. The primary purpose of Turkey Scholarships is to provide equal opportunities to successful students around the world in order to receive them. More than just a financial aid package, this government-funded initiative is designed to foster a global network of “future leaders” who are committed to strengthening international cooperation and building mutual understanding between societies.

For many years, Turkey has been providing scholarship opportunities to international students and researchers from all over the world. Higher education scholarship programs provided by Turkey were branded as “Turkey Scholarships” in 2012 and studies were started to be carried out under the coordination of Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities(YTB). Turkey Scholarships are carried out in cooperation with all relevant institutions such as YÖK, Yurt – Kur, General Directorate of Migration Management and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Turkey has rapidly transformed into a global hub for higher education, hosting over 150,000 international students from 165 different countries. The 2026 scholarship cycle continues this momentum by offering access to nearly all academic disciplines—ranging from advanced engineering and basic sciences to social sciences, humanities, and arts. Eligibilities
- Be a citizen of any country except Turkey and must not be currently enrolled in a program at the same level of education in a Turkish university.
- Ability to provide all required documentation, including a valid ID/Passport, academic transcripts, and a recent photograph.
- Must have already graduated or be able to graduate by August 2026
- Undergraduate program:
- Applicant must be under the age of 21.
- Minimum academic achievement of 70% from previous studies.
- Master’s & PhD program:
- Minimum academic achievement of 75% from previous studies.
- Applicant must be under the age of 30 for Master’s programs .
- Applicant must be under the age of 35 for PhD programs.
- Health Sciences (Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy):
- Minimum academic achievement of 90% from previous studies.
Application Process
- Click the Apply Now button and create an account using a valid email address.
- Log in and fill out all personal information sections, including your identity details, contact information and family details.
- Enter your full academic history, including high school, undergraduate or graduate details (depending on the level you are applying for).
- Document Upload: Scan and upload all required documents:
- A valid ID card or Passport.
- A recent photograph (taken within the last year).
- National exam results (if any).
- Diplomas or temporary graduation certificates.
- Official academic transcripts showing all courses and grades.
- International exam results (GRE, GMAT, SAT, etc.) and Language proficiency scores (TOEFL, IELTS), only if required by your chosen university.
- Write “Letter of Intent,” explaining your academic goals, why you chose Turkey and your future career plans.
- Choose up to 12 preferences for universities and departments from the list provided in the system.
- Ensure your most desired programs are at the top of your list, as placement is based on these preferences and availability.
- Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation message and can download your application summary in PDF format.
