The Paris Institute of Political Studies, France is commonly known as Sciences Po University, Paris, France. Science Po is one of the higher education institutions in France and, it is a member of the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles. Sciences Po University is an international research-oriented university, both selective and open to the world, ranking among France’s finest institutions. Science Po works in the fields of social sciences: economics, law, history, economics, and political science.

Sciences Po created the Émile Boutmy scholarship in order to welcome the very best international students from outside the European Union. The Émile Boutmy Scholarship is awarded to top students whose profiles match the admissions priorities of Sciences Po and individual course requirements. The Émile Boutmy scholarship fund benefits from the generous support of its sponsors (benefactors, companies and foundations) who are eager to allow the most deserving international students to study at Sciences Po. Private sponsors can be in direct contact with scholarship holders during officially organised events. They support the Émile Boutmy excellence scholarship : BNP Paribas, Chalhoub Group, RATP Foundation, L’Oréal, Total.

  • Sciences Po Undergraduate programmes offer a three-year curriculum grounded in the social sciences. Open to students with the Baccalauréat (or a foreign equivalent), these programmes lead to a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Sciences Po’s Graduate schools offer two-year curricula leading to a Master’s degree with a number of professional specializations.

Scholarships are available to pursue Undergraduate and Masters’s in multiple research fields. There are the following schools are available in Science Po, France. Details are given below-

Deadline: 

  • Deadline for the undergraduate programme (applicants from foreign secondary schools): 23 February 2022.
  • Deadline for the undergraduate programme (applicants from French secondary schools): mid-June 2022.
  • Deadline for master’s programme: 30 November 2021.

Emile Boutmy Scholarship for Bachelors Degree Program:

  1. A tuition grant of €13,000 per year for the three years of the undergraduate/bachelor’s program. additionally, a handsome grant to cover the part of the cost of living of €5000 per year.
  2. A tuition grant of €8,800 per year for the three years of the undergraduate/bachelor’s program.
  3. A tuition grant of €6,000 per year for the three years of the undergraduate/bachelor’s program.
  4. A tuition grant of €3,600 per year for the three years of the undergraduate/bachelor’s program.

In exceptional cases, students can offer other funding support as a reward of 19,000€ for up to 3 years of college studies.

Emile Boutmy Scholarship for Master’s Degree Program: There are Emile Boutmy Master’s Scholarships are support the following benefits to international students as given below:

  • A huge amount of €12,200 per year would be awarded to cover the tuition fees for the first two years of the Master’s studies

Eligibilities

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be: first time applicants, from a non-European Union state, whose household does not file taxes within the European Union, and who have been admitted to the Undergraduate or Master’s programme.

Students who are not eligible are:

  • Swiss and Norwegian applicants, since they may be entitled to CROUS scholarships
  • Candidates who have dual citizenship, including an EU citizenship
  • Candidates from Quebec for master’s degree (since they may take advantage of sliding scale fees same as European applicants). Candidates from Quebec for a bachelor’s degree are eligible
  • Master’s level dual-degree candidates. Only applicants for the following dual degrees are eligible:
    • The dual degree in Journalism Sciences Po/Columbia University
    • The dual degree Sciences Po/Fudan University with the concentration Europe-Asia in Global Affairs (only applicants with Chinese nationality)
    • The dual degree Sciences Po/Peking University (only applicants with Chinese nationality)
    • BAMA ITAM
  • Ph.D. programme students (thesis)
  • Candidates for the 1 year Master’s programmes
  • Bachelor dual degree candidates (unless as part of a specific agreement)
  • Exchange students
  • Candidates applying via the French graduate admission procedure

Application Process

Applicants must indicate that they are applying for the Émile Boutmy scholarship in the “Financial information” section of their Sciences Po application. If you are currently in deferral you can apply by email (at: [email protected]) if you are in one of the following situations:

  • You did not apply to this scholarship in your application form
  • You had applied and obtained this scholarship last year but lost it due to your deferral

Undergraduate College, first time applicants-

  • Applicants from foreign secondary schools: Must indicate that they are applying to the Émile Boutmy scholarship in the “Financial information” section of their Sciences Po application.
  • Applicants from French secondary schools: Must apply by contacting the Admission Office by email, once admitted to Sciences Po. This email should include your CV as well as the following information:
    • Indicate the country in which you are resident for tax purposes 1
    • Indicate the country in which you are resident for tax purposes 2 (optional)
    • Total annual income (in euros) of the household from the year before last
    • Number of financially dependent children in the household (including yourself)?
    • Are any of your siblings currently pursuing higher education?

Master’s level, first-time applicants- Must indicate that they are applying to the Émile Boutmy scholarship in the “Financial information” section of their Sciences Po application.

Candidates currently in deferral (Undergraduate College and Masters level): In this case, you need to apply to the Émile Boutmy scholarship by filling out this contact form before the deadline. This email should include your CV as well as the following information:

  • Indicate the country in which you are resident for tax purposes 1
  • Indicate the country in which you are resident for tax purposes 2 (optional)
  • Total annual income (in euros) of the household from the year before last
  • The number of financially dependent children in the household (including yourself)?
