The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) is a prestigious scholarship programme that provides opportunities for students from Commonwealth countries to pursue postgraduate studies in various fields in a Commonwealth country. The scholarship programme was established in 2015 as a part of the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP), which has been in existence since 1959.

The QECS aims to develop future leaders, promote cross-cultural understanding and enhance the skills and knowledge of talented individuals from Commonwealth countries. The scholarship covers full tuition fees, a living allowance, and return airfare to and from the host country. Scholars also receive a research grant to cover additional expenses related to their studies.

The scholarship programme is open to citizens of Commonwealth countries who have completed their undergraduate studies and wish to pursue a Master’s degree or PhD in a Commonwealth country. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential and a commitment to contributing to their home country’s development.
