Course Announcement: Post Graduate Diploma in Tribal Arts and Crafts!
The Regional Centre Ranchi (RCR) is one of the nine newly set up Regional Centres of the IGNCA which came into existence at Ranchi, Jharkhand, in 2017. The RCR has been set up to preserve, conserve, study and disseminate the knowledge of rich cultural heritage of the different tribes of India. Under the Dissemination of Knowledge Programme, the IGNCA-RCR has introduced one year academic program entitled “Post Graduate Diploma in Tribal Arts and Crafts”.

The course has been designed with the aim to inculcate indigenous knowledge of socio-religious, economic, ecological, traditional customs, crafts, and various art forms and their cosmological manifestation through teaching and training programmes so that the students make themselves self-employed within their socio-cultural milieu. The course is designed under the control of IGNCA’s HQ, New Delhi. It will be conducted in collaboration with Ranchi University, Ranchi. The diploma will be offered jointly by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, Regional Centre, Ranchi and Ranchi University, Ranchi. This will be a Part time one-year course consisting of two semesters. Each semester will be of six months of duration. There will be a total of eight papers. Each semester would have 4 papers comprising of 3 theoretical papers and 1 practical paper. The practical course will be based on field work.

Eligibilities
- The candidates the admission in the Post Graduate Diploma course should have a minimum of 45% marks in graduate level degree from a recognized institution/ University of India or abroad.
- Maximum age limit for joining the course is 40 years.
