Apply for the NIHR MSc Studentships in Medical Statistics. Four studentships are available for the 2019-20 academic year. These studentships are funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), and have been made available with the aim of building research capacity in medical statistics; they will be targeted towards students who are planning to go on to work in areas of benefit to the National Health Service.

Eligibilities

  • Funds paid to the award recipient once the award has been terminated, or paid in error, or inappropriately, will be reclaimed.
  • The award recipient must understand that the giving of any false information or withholding of relevant information may lead to the termination of any allowance granted and the institution of proceedings for the recovery of any amounts paid by the School.
  • Award recipients agree to write a 250-word student profile for use in School publications and on the website. They also give consent to the School (and its studentship partner/s for this award only) to announce their name and funding award and to use photographic images of the award recipient/s in their publications and on the website.

Application Process

  • Application Deadlines:
    • First deadline: midnight (BST) Sunday 14 April 2019.
    • Second deadline: midnight (BST) Thursday 30 May 2019.
  • To be considered for this funding, you must submit an MSc online application for MSc in Medical Statistics, along with all necessary supporting documentation, by the funding application deadline. There is no separate scholarship application process – all eligible candidates will be considered for this funding.
  • For scholarship purposes, applications submitted without all the necessary supporting documents are considered incomplete. Any applications that do not have all the necessary supporting documents at the scholarship deadline will be considered incomplete and therefore ineligible for this funding.
  • There will be two deadlines for applications – two studentships will be awarded in April, and two in June. Early application is recommended. Unsuccessful applicants for the April award will automatically be reconsidered for the June award.
