The DAAD Postgraduate Scholarship in Architecture is a prestigious scholarship that offers a unique opportunity to pursue a postgraduate degree in architecture at a leading German university.
The DAAD Postgraduate Scholarship in Architecture is a fully-funded scholarship that covers the cost of tuition, living expenses, travel, and health insurance for the duration of the postgraduate degree program, which is usually two years. However, if you are already in Germany in the first year of a Master’s degree course at the time of application, you may apply for funding for your second year of study only.
The scholarship also includes a one-off study allowance and payments towards health, accident, and personal liability insurance cover. Under certain circumstances, scholars may be given a monthly rent subsidy and a monthly allowance for accompanying family members.
To enable scholars to learn German in preparation for their stay in Germany, DAAD will also pay for the course fees for the online language course “Deutsch-Uni Online (DUO)” for 6 months after receipt of the Scholarship Award Letter, and if necessary, for German language courses of 2, 4 or 6 months’ duration before the start of the study visit. Participation in a language course is compulsory if the language of instruction or working language is German at the German host institution.

Submit your application. To submit your scholarship application, you will need to submit the following documents:

- Transcripts of all previous university degrees
- Two letters of recommendation
