The GC Scholarship is a fully virtual scholarship program that empowers young changemakers to address one or more of the SDGs in their community by proposing and implementing a localized changemaker project whilst also benefitting from a summer school as well as peer-to-peer mentoring and various expert trainings and workshops on specific topics.

The GC Scholarship program targets 16 young changemakers, ages 20 to 35 from the following African, Middle Eastern, South Asian and Southeast Asian countries. Selected applicants will be joined by one Management Center Innsbruck University student, forming a cohort of 17 changemakers participating in this year’s scholarship. Over the course of 8-9 months, the selected Scholars will get the chance to enhance their skillset on the Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals, elevate their knowledge with regards to the field of entrepreneurship for sustainable development, and connect with professional networks.

Change Makers Projects are initiatives created and implemented by Ban Ki-moon Foundation fellows, mentees, or scholars, that tackle one or more SDGs on a local, national, or international level. The projects vary in size and concept but share the common goal of finding a solution to the challenges faced in achieving the 2030 Agenda. Using the filters below you can explore a selection of highlighted projects spanning over several years and countries.

Young change makers have a crucial role to play in the implementation of the SDGs. The BKMF encourages and trains young global citizens to undertake Change Makers Projects all over the globe in their local communities. With these projects, the young leaders address a specific societal challenge that needs to be transformed into an opportunity. BKMF fellows, scholars, and mentees are encouraged to spot a real-world challenge, work on solutions, and venture out to make a change with targeted actions for the SDGs that reach a wide network of people. The BKMF programs encourage a spirit of “learning by doing”; from initial ideation to the final steps of project implementation, the BKMF offers guidance and mentorship, aimed at scaling the success and impact of Change Makers Projects.
