Call for applications for the ONE Youth Ambassadors Programme 2026 is open now!!!
The ONE Youth Ambassadors Programme 2026 in the United Kingdom is a year-long, high-impact volunteer initiative designed for young people aged 18 to 35 who are committed to advancing global justice, equality and sustainable development. Delivered by ONE, an international advocacy organisation with a strong presence across Africa, Europe, and North America, the programme places youth voices at the centre of campaigns focused on global health, climate action, development financing and reshaping narratives about Africa. The UK cohort forms part of ONE’s wider Global Activist network, enabling participants to collaborate with thousands of campaigners worldwide while contributing directly to national and international advocacy efforts.

Throughout the 12-month programme, Youth Ambassadors receive expert-led training in campaigning, influencing, media engagement, and strategic storytelling, equipping them with the skills needed to run effective advocacy initiatives both online and in their communities. Participants engage directly with Members of Parliament and other decision-makers, represent ONE at key moments such as Africa Day and the UK Spring Development Conference, and contribute to high-profile lobbying and public engagement activities. The programme combines structured online engagement with in-person events across the UK, ensuring a balance between accessibility and hands-on advocacy experience.

ONE Ambassadors are encouraged to take ownership of creative campaign actions aligned with their personal interests while supporting ONE’s broader policy goals. With dedicated guidance from ONE’s team, participants build professional competencies in communication, teamwork, and leadership, while gaining valuable exposure to international development and public policy processes. No prior experience in advocacy or development is required, making the programme particularly suitable for those seeking to enter these fields or strengthen their public leadership profile. By the end of the programme, Ambassadors emerge as confident advocates, connected to a global movement working to ensure that economic opportunity and healthy lives are accessible to all, particularly across Africa.
