The Directorate General of Medical Education under the Medical Education & Family Welfare division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Bangladesh, has announced admission of foreign students in Government Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges/Units for the academic year 2025-2026. A total of 224 seats are allocated for the foreign students this year. Among these, 125 seats are allocated for SAARC countries, 99 seats are allocated for Non-SAARC сcountries under the Bangladesh Government’s scholarship program. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh will consider applications of foreign students for admission in Government Medical Colleges/Dental Colleges/Dental Units in Bangladesh. The list of government medical colleges/dental colleges/dental units of Bangladesh is mentioned in the circular.
Interested candidates have to submit the application form attached with all academic records and relevant documents, which must be sent to their respective ministry of foreign affairs/responsible authorities from 11th November, 2025 to 22nd December, 2025. The respective Ministry of Foreign Affairs/responsible authority of the country will verify the documents according to the admission criteria mentioned in the circular and will make an eligible list of students and send all documents to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh within 08th January, 2026. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh will send the documents regarding foreign student admission to the Directorate General of Medical Education and inform to medical education and family welfare division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare by 15th January, 2026. No application will be considered after the deadline.

All original certificates, mark sheets, and relevant documents should be submitted to the office of the principal of the respective government medical colleges/dental colleges/dental units of Bangladesh at the time of admission.
Fabrication of any documents in the admission process is subject to cancellation of admission, which will be punishable under the law. If any information or document, or procedure is found fictitious in the future, the admission will be void immediately, and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare of Bangladesh will not bear any responsibility. National Policy for Admission of Students to MBBS and BDS Courses in the 2025-2026 Academic Year, by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BM&DC), will be applicable.

Eligibilities
- Academic Records:
- Must have passed qualifying examination of ‘O’ level or equivalent examination and ‘A level or equivalent examination with science background.
- ‘O’ level or equivalent examination passed not before 2022.
- ‘A’ level or equivalent examination passed in the year of 2024 or 2025.
- ‘A’ level or equivalent exam must be completed within 3 years of ‘O’ level or equivalent
exam. - The applicants must have at least aggregated GPA 8.50 (Eight point Five zero) in ‘O’ level and ‘A’ level exam of individual GPA 5.00 (Five) scale. Applicants also must have Grade Point 3.50 in Biology in ‘A’ level/12 class completion equivalent examination. However, a GPA score of less than 4.00 points in any single exam will not be considered.
- For calculating GPA against the percentage of marks obtained in ‘O’ level or other equivalent exam only top 5 subjects are considered. For calculation of GPA against the marks obtained in ‘A’ level or equivalent exam, only 3 subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) are considered.
- All certificates must be duly attested by the competent authority, i.e. Education and the Foreign Ministries of the respective countries and must be authenticated by the Embassy of Bangladesh of the concerned country.
Application Process
- Interested candidates should duly fill-up an application form and arrange all necessary documents. Template of application form is mentioned in the circular.
- Candidates have to submit recent passport size photograph, passport, all academic documents (certificate and marks sheet of ‘O’ level/10 class completion exam and ‘A’ level/12 class completion exam).
- All submitted academic documents should be attested by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign affairs of the respective countries and must be authenticated by the Embassy of Bangladesh of the concerned country.
- Eligible applicants must submit the attested documents to Bangladesh mission to obtain visa.
