BBC is offering 4 LPC graduates the opportunity to work as part of the their extended legal team for two years, receiving excellent legal training and work experience with the world’s leading public service broadcaster. It is your opportunity to be part of the team that provides the essential professional legal services which enable the BBC to enrich people’s lives with programmes and services that inform, educate and entertain.

Applicants need to be able to demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to the BBC and an understanding of the many areas of law that we deal with on an everyday basis. This includes not only commercial law, litigation, intellectual property, data protection, employment, fair trade and competition, but supporting all the varied needs of one of the creative sector’s biggest employers. Over the course of your training contract you can also expect to gain experience of responding both to critical issues immediately and providing long-term business support, legal research, writing and drafting in both transaction and contentious contexts, interviewing and advising, negotiation, oral presentation and communication.

You will be involved in a wide range of quality legal work from day one. Benefits

You will be paid £28,000 in the first year, rising to £32,000 in the second year (inclusive of London weighting), leading to qualification with the SRA as a solicitor.

Eligibilities

Applicants must normally have a 2:1 degree in law or in a non-law subject if you have also passed the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL). You must also have completed your Legal Practice Course (LPC) or be a current student who will have passed the LPC and be ready to start work with us in September 2017. This is critical.
