The internship programme for the Decentralized Cooperation Unit is designed to complement development-oriented studies with practical experience in various aspects of multilateral technical cooperation, international studies, international development and inclusive growth.

The purpose of the Internship Programme is to provide an opportunity to make substantive contributions to the office’s work, mostly by providing support to the Decentralized Cooperation Team in its daily activities and in the accomplishment of the goals and tasks that are part of UNDP Brazil Strategy.

Under the guidance and supervision of Local Project Coordinator in Pará, the intern will be responsible for the following activities:

1. Support with review of reference material and identification of reference content for retention; research and analysis of data from external sources;

2. Support the maintenance of information database and audio-visual library;

3. Support the Production and identification of storylines, photos and videos for publications and other marketing and audio-visual materials contributing to debates on key development issues;

4. Contact with printers and other suppliers to ensure production;

5. Support with preparation/checking the content for the online platforms to ensure consistency of the materials;

Support follow-up with partners and mainly the press for dissemination of Decentralized Cooperation material;

7. Support organization of the Decentralized Cooperation Unit folders and files in the server, according to key activities and demands;

8. Support supervisor in the preparation of briefings and press releases;

9. Production of content with the collection of testimonials in videos and audios for use in UNDP disclosures;

10. Support in the preparation of virtual invitations, PPT presentations and other visual materials for use in UNDP events and projects;

11. Support in mobilization processes for meetings and events;

12. Updating of the press mailing list of the Amazon states;

13. Participate in weekly team meetings and other meetings, if requested.

Benefits

  • This internship is not a paid position, however, interns may receive a monthly stipend according to UNDP’s rules and regulations, up to BRL 897.66 (In-person/Part-time).
  • Where an intern is engaged remotely and is not financially supported by any institution or programme, such as a university, Government, foundation or scholarship programme, a remote stipend intended to help cover expenses related to the internship, such as internet connections or other means to remain in contact with the receiving office, will be paid by the receiving office.

Eligibilities

Education:

Applicants to the UNDP internship programme must at the time of the application:

  • Be involved in a course of study in fields such as Social Communication, Journalism, Multimedia, Advertising, Marketing and/or any other related fields.
  • At the time of application meet ONE of the following requirements:
  • (a) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • (b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);
  • (c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of   graduation.

Experience:

  • – Experience in production of journalistic texts and press releases is desirable;
  • – Experience of graphic design is desirable;
  • – Experience with creating content for social media will be considered;
  • – Experience with edition and publishing software will be considered.

Languages:

  • Fluency in Portuguese;
  • Working knowledge in English will be considered.

Mandatory:

  • Copy of the passport’s identification page (in the case of foreign applicants) or ID card (RG) for Brazilian nationals;
  • Copy of updated curriculum (CV);
  • Proof of enrolment in a certified educational institution and/or university; OR
  • Certificate of conclusion/diploma issued no longer than 12 months prior to internship start date.

Optional:

  • Coverletter;
  • A recommendation letter from a senior faculty member or employer who has directly supervised the applicant in the recent past and who is fully acquainted with the applicant’s performance.
