King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) is currently offering internships under Visiting Student Research Program (VSRP).

KAUST VSRP is an exciting opportunity for highly qualified international students in their baccalaureate or post-baccalaureate studies to be engaged in research with faculty mentors in selected areas of research. Each internship typically lasts from three to six months.

At KAUST, collaboration is valued over competition. Their faculty, students, postdocs and researchers come together to explore novel ideas in water, energy, environment and food to bring solutions to society.

VSRP interns may participate in the program through one of the University’s three academic divisions: Biological and Environmental Science and Engineering; Computer, Electrical and Mathematical Science and Engineering; or Physical Science and Engineering.

The Visiting Student Research Program (VSRP) is the perfect opportunity to work in state-of-the-art laboratories and being trained to use experimental equipment that one may not come across during his/her time as an undergraduate and a postgraduate. The amenities offered by the VRSP program allow them to get a unique and top-class research experience in their field with lots of benefits for an intern. Moreover, as a VRSP student, the best outreach one can get at KAUST is to meet people from all over the world. The interns, being surrounded by expert scientists and helpful students, get the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and interests about science.

Beginning and end dates for each internship will be agreed upon between the Faculty and the Intern. Visa processing time will be a determining factor in actual start date. Minimum period is four months. Maximum period is six months. Selected applicants will be interviewed by Skype and notified of their acceptance.

Eligibilities

  • 3rd Year Baccalaureate or Masters Students
  • GPA 3.5/4 or 14/20 (ECTS B)
  • Strong verbal and written English Skills Recommended levels, minimum TOEFL score of 79 on the IBT (Internet Based Test) or 6.0 on the IELTS (International English Language Testing System).
