Field of activity

The project “Support in German Global Health Policy” is commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG). The aim of the project is to promote the topic of global health on a national and international level and to support the BMG in making a visible contribution to international processes. This includes supporting and promoting cross-sector and cross-sectoral exchange and cooperation at the international and national level.

The GIZ team supports the BMG in the implementation of the Federal Government’s Strategy (BuReg) on global health, in the positioning of the topic of global health in national and international bodies and processes, and in the design of dialogue with non-state actors.

In addition, on behalf of the BMG, GIZ provides the secretariat of the Global Health Hub Germany (GHHG). The Hub is an independent network based in Germany that brings together actors from various areas of society (science, economy, civil society, politics, etc.) and sectors (health, environment, climate, nutrition, agriculture, education, research, development cooperation, etc.) with the aim of strengthening Germany’s contribution in the field of global health, using expertise from non-governmental areas and improving coordination.
