Call for The Eisner Prize Fellowship program 2026-27 is open now!!
The Eisner Prize Fellowship, offered by the The Eisner Foundation, is a prestigious initiative designed to support emerging leaders who are pioneering innovative approaches to strengthening intergenerational connections. Since 2011, the foundation has championed this field through the Eisner Prize for Intergenerational Excellence, which recognized individuals and organizations across the United States for their outstanding contributions to bridging generational divides. In 2023, this legacy evolved into the Eisner Prize Fellowship, shifting its focus toward empowering leaders with fresh ideas and forward-thinking perspectives to advance the field further.

At its core, the fellowship highlights innovation in intergenerational engagement—encouraging participants to design and implement new initiatives that foster meaningful collaboration between different age groups. These projects may take various forms, such as community programs, research, storytelling, or creative solutions, but all share a common goal of strengthening social connections across generations and addressing challenges like isolation and community fragmentation.

Each year, five fellows are selected for this highly competitive program. The fellowship provides financial support of $40,000 to develop and execute a new intergenerational initiative, along with an additional $10,000 stipend. Beyond funding, the program emphasizes collaboration and learning through a cohort-based model. Fellows typically begin their journey in July, coming together as a group and continuing to meet regularly in the months that follow. These sessions, often held virtually, create a dynamic space for participants to share progress, exchange ideas, and learn from both peers and experts. The structure and frequency of these meetings are thoughtfully designed and co-created with the cohort to ensure a meaningful and engaging experience.
In addition to group interactions, fellows also maintain individual connections with the foundation through periodic check-ins. As part of their contribution to the broader community, each fellow is invited to share their journey and insights through a blog post, helping to amplify their work and inspire others.
