The program is designed to unite entrepreneurs from the District of Columbia (DC), Maryland, and Virginia, commonly referred to as the DMV area. Its primary focus is on empowering these founders to tackle critical issues related to climate change, specifically in the areas of climate mitigation, adaptation, and resilience.

Participants in the program will receive specialized training tailored to enhance their understanding and capabilities in developing climate-focused solutions. Additionally, they will have access to essential resources that can significantly accelerate the growth and impact of their ventures. Moreover, the program includes two in-person residency weeks, which will take place within the DMV region. These residency weeks are likely intended to foster collaboration among the entrepreneurs, provide hands-on learning experiences, and deepen their connections within the local climate innovation ecosystem. Overall, the program aims to equip these entrepreneurs with the knowledge, resources, and networks needed to drive meaningful progress in addressing climate-related challenges in their communities and beyond.

Eligibilities
They are looking for (for-profit) startups that are building scalable solutions that are tackling challenges related to climate mitigation, adaptation, and resilience across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area.
Location: Must have your venture based in/serving the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area
Stage: Must have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that has the potential to scale. Must be working on your venture full-time.
Team:
- May apply with up to one co-founder
- Applicant must be the CEO and/or hold primary decision-making power
- Must be fluent in English
- Must be at least 21 years of age by the start of the program
- Program Engagement: Must be able to participate in all activities and programming sessions
- Impact: Must be developing a product and venture which contributes towards 1 or more of the UN’s 17 SDGs
In addition to eligibility, Halcyon scores each application based on 4 criteria: Impact, Scalability, Innovation, and Talent.
