The AIT-Tiger Leong International Innovation and Leadership Camp was launched in 2017 by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) with the support from its generous alumnus Ir. Tiger Leong, President, Ellipse Enterprise Malaysia with the purpose to inspire the future leaders by providing an interactive learning program in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment.

The first camp was held in January 2017 with a total of 21 participants from ASEAN countries Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. In the second camp in July 2017, the organizers decided to widen its reach and included other Asian countries. The second camp welcomed 25 participants from Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Lao, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The third camp is scheduled to take place in middle of July this year. The Call for Application will open on 15 March 2018. Bright and talented undergraduate students who want to pursue post-graduate studies in Architecture and Engineering; Computer Information Technology; Business Management; and Social Sciences are encouraged to apply.

As part of AIT’s commitment to promote and train young minds as future innovative leaders, the camp aims to nurture the entrepreneurial skills of young people and encourage them to be innovative through a series of seminars, workshops, and motivational talks from renowned experts as well as site visits and study tours for more hands on experience.

Eligibilities

  • Minimum 3.5 GPA or equivalent + letter of recommendation from school;
  • passport and visa to Thailand; ability to speak and write in English;
  • 2-minute video (introduction about yourself and why you want to join the camp) to be uploaded in Youtube; a
  • 300-word essay answering the question “what are the local or global issues you care about the most and what do you think are the solutions?”
  • Bright and talented undergraduate/college students from all over the world in the field of : Architecture, Engineering, Management, Social Sciences
