‘Global goals, local actions: Towards lifelong learning for all in 2030’ is the theme of the third International Conference on Learning Cities. This Conference is the first of its kind to take place in Cork, a city which enjoys a long history of lifelong learning. The conference will bring together city leaders and national government representatives, representatives of international organisations, non-governmental organisations and private-sector partners as well as experts in the fields of education, lifelong learning and city development to shape the future of learning cities.

Through plenary sessions, thematic forums and the presentations of cities’ best practices, participants will discuss:

  • How lifelong learning supports the achievement of the SDGs at local levels
  • Promotion of integrated governance and multi-stakeholder partnerships for the cities’ sustainable future
  • Successful ways of implementing and measuring the impact of local actions for sustainable development
    In addition, mayors will be able to exchange their views and experiences in a mayor’s forum, and a matchmaking event will provide participants with opportunities to exchange knowledge and forge links and partnerships.
