The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine invites to take part in the International Conference “Youth and the State – Partnership for Development”

Participation of young people as a chaotic phenomenon or institutional cooperation? The revolutions created by the youth and apathy for participation in elections, the desire to create real changes and the non-typical systems of dialogue. Youth + State and many other diametrically opposite signs of young people’s participation in the process of making strategic decisions and their realization have become an integral part of the present-day countries of the range Eastern Partnership of the European Union (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine).

The international conference will become the first interdisciplinary and interinstitutional dialogue platform for the six Eastern Partnership countries to find answers to the following questions:

  • Can international and national legislative initiatives allow young people to participate?
  • How does the participation of young people in Eastern Partnership countries really work? Is it possible for young people to participate without the legal preconditions for this?
  • How to build the Youth + State cooperation in order to better shape strategic decisions? What successful practices already exist in Lithuania, Estonia, Germany, France and the Eastern Partnership countries?
  • How to explore the issue of youth participation?

The conference is organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Ukraine, European Commission, Lviv Oblast State Administration, United Nations Development Program in Ukraine, Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum in Ukraine (Working Group No. 4 “People-to-People Relations”).

This International Conference will become the first interdisciplinary and cross-institutional dialogue platform for all 6 Eastern Partnership countries and their allies with an aim of formulating joint answers for questions:

  • How the youth participation actually works in the Eastern Partnership countries? Is it solely the Youth action or the Legal framework enabling it?
  • Is it important to have the international and national legislative frameworks for the youth participation?
  • How to build the efficient Youth-State partnership to foster a better decision-making?
  • How to research youth participation?
