With Halloween coming up next month, the spookiest time of the year is almost here. So for this challenge, they want to see your most mysterious, dark, and moody photos and videos. From dramatic portraits to cloudy skies and shadowy landscapes, share your best photos and videos with dark tones.

Pexels provides high quality and completely free stock photos licensed under the Pexels license. All photos are nicely tagged, searchable, and also easy to discover through their discover pages.




One winner chosen by the Pexels curation team will receive a $200USD cash prize.


  • Upload as many relevant photos and videos as you want to increase your chances of winning.
  • All photos and videos get published under the Pexels License and can be used for free.
  • Only upload your own photos and videos.
  • Minimum resolution of 1920 x 1080.
  • Footage shouldn’t have graphics, borders, watermarks, or branding elements Cinemagraphs, vertical videos, stop motion videos, analog film, and digital formats are all welcome. Avoid shaky, overexposed, underexposed, or unclear videos.
  • While the sound may be included in uploads, videos with added music may not be published due to copyright concerns.
