This globally popular Institute of Management Accountants Middle East and India Student Case Competition invites university students to think strategically and stretch their analytical skills to solve a business case on “Should Star Textiles Cut Out The Intermediaries?”

Put your business acumen to the test and present your team’s analysis in front of leading business heads. This year’s case gives you and your team the chance to get selected for the Grand Finals, where you will compete with peers from around the world.

    • A $150 Amazon gift voucher will be awarded to each team member.

  • Grand Finals Challenge
    The winning team from the finals will be invited to present at the Grand Finals challenge in Dubai, UAE in July 2021. The exact date of the Grand Finals will be communicated to the winning team closer to June 2021. IMA will pay the cost of travel and one-night accommodation for members of the winning team.
  • IMA will determine the amount spent on travel and accommodation at its sole discretion. The Grand Final challenge will comprise of university teams from Europe and Southeast Asia. Each team will be required to respond to additional questions on which they will be judged. Judges will be representatives from industry and academia.

Eligibilities

  1. Students across the Middle East, Africa, and India are eligible to enter the IMA Student Case Competition 2021.
  2. Team members may be from different academic programs, but must all be from the same institution.
  3. Each team must have a faculty advisor from the same institution.
  4. Each team must appoint a team leader.
Eligible Regions: India, Middle East, Africa

Application Process

  • Please visit the official page to register and download the case.
  • Post that, you will be directed to https://imamiddleeast.org/IMAStudentCase2021Submission/ where you can submit your team with your business case.
  • All case analysis submissions will undergo a preliminary evaluation by senior IMA members who are all CMA-certified.
  • The top four teams (two from Middle East/Africa and two from India) will be selected and notified no later than March 18, 2021.
  • The date of the final presentation will be held between May and June 2021.
  • The date will be confirmed and communicated to the winning team around May 2021.
  • For those teams selected as finalists, IMA will be making the travel arrangements to the live finals.
  • Participants will be responsible for obtaining the appropriate travel documentation.
