Call for GreenLens Photo Competition and Virtual Eco-Exhibition 2024 is open now!!!

GreenLens is a project launched by a group of environmental enthusiasts from ASEAN and supported by the U.S. Department of State and the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI).

Get the Youth Opportunities iOS App here for the fully-funded opportunities.

The project aims to enhance social-environmental awareness among ASEAN youths through a photo competition running from March 4, 2024, to April 7, 2024. This will be followed by a virtual eco-exhibition where participants will showcase their submissions. Participants are invited to submit original photos along with narratives addressing environmental challenges with a specific focus on the theme of Climate Change.

The stark realities of plastic waste, e-waste, pollution, and the looming threat of climate change aren’t abstract problems; they’re real and pressing issues that demand attention now.

Southeast Asia stands at a crucial crossroads. The need for collective action has never been more significant, and the urgency has never been clearer. It’s not just about addressing these issues; it’s about securing the resilience and prosperity of the region.

The time to act is now, and the project, “GreenLens: Southeast Asian Youths’ Perspectives on Environmental Issues”, is GreenLens’  response. Everyone needs to be courageous to confront the truths, and come up with solutions but also be creative to present those stories.

Plastic pollution is choking the waterways, putting marine life in peril and threatening the livelihoods of those who depend on fisheries.

E-waste isn’t just a disposal problem; it’s contaminating the soil and water, posing hazards to both the environment and human health.
