The Here to Be grant seeks organizations that are community-led, creating equity in wellbeing, and serving populations most impacted by systemic inequity. They recognize that planetary health is a fundamental condition for wellbeing and this year, they also seek to fund organizations that are contributing to a healthy planet as it relates to their collective wellbeing.
Organizations can apply for general operating support up to $50,000 USD. The amount requested cannot exceed more than 40% of an organization’s operating budget. If selected, the grant will be administered by and disbursed through their Donor-Advised Fund at Charities Aid Foundation America (CAF America).
Organizations best suited for the Here to Be grant are those removing barriers to wellbeing in their communities. We know what it means to be well looks different for every person and every community, and organizations will take different approaches to this work, such as expanding financial accessibility, offering culturally sensitive programming, building community driven solutions, or advocating for systemic change.
Their goal with this grant is to seed and accelerate grassroots organizations that may not have traditionally had access to philanthropic resources. They seek to support organizations beyond funding, by providing optional wellbeing and leadership offerings to the selected cohort throughout the grant cycle. They hope to welcome a cohort that consists of approximately 50% new grantees into their Here to Be community every year.
They believe everyone has the right to be well, and they know the path to wellbeing is possible when tools, support, and resources are accessible to all. However, too often around the world, barriers persist, making access far too difficult for far too many people. This is especially true for those experiencing disproportionate rates of stress and trauma.
The lululemon Centre for Social Impact is setting out to break the barriers that prevent access to wellbeing. They leverage their expertise, resources, and communities to invest in and advocate for the wellbeing of those most impacted by systemic inequity, guided by their goal of positively impacting 10 million people by 2025.
