Application for Her Voice Fund Grant (Cycle 5) by Womankind Worldwide is open now!!!
Women’s rights and feminist organisations have played a crucial role in advocating for a more just and equal world. Despite their significant contributions, many face challenges due to limited budgets and a lack of flexible resources, which hinder their ability to address pressing issues. Initiatives aimed at policy influencing are often underfunded, especially for organisations working within communities and addressing various forms of marginalisation and discrimination.
Get the Youth Opportunities iOS App here for the fully-funded opportunities.
To address these gaps, the Her Voice Fund has been established with the primary goal of empowering intersectional women’s rights groups and feminist activists. This fund provides essential financial support that enables organizations to engage with and influence advocacy spaces across multiple levels, from local communities to international platforms. The funding is intentionally designed to be flexible, allowing recipients to allocate resources to any policy and advocacy priorities they identify as critical for their mission.

Eligible organizations can submit proposals for a variety of initiatives, including but not limited to advocacy and media campaigns aimed at promoting gender equality, efforts to enact legislative changes concerning women’s rights, and participation in pivotal regional and international advocacy events, such as the African Union Summits and the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). The funding also supports action research initiatives, which aim to shape and inform policy and decision-making processes, in addition to covering operational expenses like staff salaries and essential overhead costs.
Womankind’s Her Voice Fund specifically targets feminist organizations based in the Global South that work with women who are discriminated against due to their marginalized identities. This includes women with disabilities, LGBTQI+ women, young women, and incarcerated women, who often find themselves excluded from critical decision-making processes that affect their lives and communities.
Currently, applications are being accepted from prospective partners and informal groups based in Ethiopia, Kenya, Nepal, Uganda, and Zimbabwe. Grants are available in amounts ranging from GBP 20,000 to GBP 40,000 per year. Specifically, established partners of Womankind Worldwide may apply for grants of up to £40,000 for a duration of two years, while informal groups that have previously received funding can request up to £20,000 for the same term. Importantly, budget submissions can include core operational costs, such as rent and salaries, ensuring organizations can sustain their essential activities.
