Shaping Horizons is extremely excited to announce the launch of Fintech For Inclusion, a programme that aims to advance financial inclusion in LatAm and the UK by creating synergies between both regions. The programme is co-organized by Shaping Horizons, UNDP Argentina, UNDP Accelerator Labs CoLabAr, UN Volunteers ROLAC and Global Shapers Buenos Aires, with the support of our partners UNDP Mexico and Ashoka Argentina.
The programme will focus on four Fintech categories: Loans, Savings, Payment Methods and Financial Education, and the methodology of the programme consists of three stages: (1) a digital pre-incubation stage where approximately 400 selected participants will be assigned into teams; (2) an ideation stage that consists of a summit to take place in Buenos Aires in 2021, to which around 7-8 teams will be invited to participate; (3) a digital accelerator phase where teams will be eligible for non-equity financing to implement their Fintech initiatives, developed in the previous stage. Up to £25,000 will be distributed among the best team/s to cover for training activities, with expenses covered, at the University of Cambridge. At this stage, Shaping Horizons will also facilitate scalability and provide tools for measuring social impact.

Shaping Horizons is a registered open innovation methodology developed to accelerate social innovation, foster diplomacy, and overcome challenges aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The methodology consists of digital pre-incubation, in-person ideation, and a digital accelerator stage that lasts for one year. The in-person ideation phase takes the form of a summit and is set in a particular country/date, as announced in the application.

Eligibilities
Applicants will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Background:
- Experience in Fintech, financial inclusion and/or related fields.
- Over one year of experience working in: Lending, Payment Methods, Savings and/or Financial Education in the public, private, nonprofit or academic sector.
- Skills:
- Advanced English
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to suggest concrete solutions to financial inclusion, ideally having already implemented them.
- Ambitious to improve and grow.
- Values innovation and has a good track record as a team player.
- Other requirements:
- Age: 20-32
- Lived in Latin America and/or the United Kingdom during the last three years at least.
