Applications for the Waislitz Global Citizen Awards 2023 are now open. The Waislitz Global Citizen Awards are presented by the Waislitz Foundation and Global Citizen, and supported by the leading US and Australian-based cellular medicines company, Mesoblast Ltd. and Unico Capital Holdings.
The Waislitz Foundation exists to create a positive social impact locally and globally through innovative projects that empower individuals to meet their full potential and make a measurable difference to the world.
All applicants for the Waislitz Global Citizen Awards will be evaluated based on individual merit, including the following five key areas:
- GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP: How does the applicant embody and exemplify the values and practices of a Global Citizen?
- PROOF OF CONCEPT: Does the applicant have a strong proof of concept with at least 1-2 years of impact toward ending extreme poverty?
- DISRUPTION: Has the applicant created a measurable impact in an innovative manner that disrupts the systems that allow for extreme poverty to exist?
- SCALABILITY: How would the award enable/support the applicant to scale or improve the applicant’s work?
- ADAPTABILITY: Can the applicant demonstrate examples of the ability to adapt and evolve to changing conditions?
Global Citizen is a movement that inspires and empowers millions of people around the world to learn and take action in support of the most critical issues facing humanity. Global Citizen works with global artists, influencers, and sports figures, to use their voices to create change and achieve the mission of ending extreme poverty. This leads corporate, government, and philanthropic leaders to make commitments in support of achieving the Global Goals. Global Citizen is a powerful social advocacy platform that has inspired real change impacting the lives of more than 1 billion people.

Benefits
- Waislitz Global Citizen Award (Grand Prize) of $100,000.
- The Waislitz Global Citizen Disruptor Award of $75,000.
- The Waislitz Global Citizens’ Choice Award of $75,000.
- In addition to the cash prizes, three winners will be profiled in editorial pieces that will be featured on the Global Citizen platform and social media.
Eligibilities
- Must be an entrant aged eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- The award is open to all nationals.
Application Process
- Applicants will have to register an account on the official application portal to make the application. (Available on the apply link.)
- After completing account registration, applicants will have to log in to the account and fill out the online application form to complete the application process.
- Applications must be submitted in English.
