The Veolia Foundation’s Student Solidarity Award has been encouraging students to invent new sustainable development models for the past decade. The award offers support for higher education students involved in citizens’ and solidarity projects. Initiatives must focus on international development aid, fostering social links and moving into employment, or protecting the environment and biodiversity, the Veolia Foundation’s three areas of intervention, in order to be eligible for the award.
Young people, especially students, show a strong capacity for engagement. Created in conjunction with the Human Resources Department, the Student Solidarity Prize rewards innovative projects initiated by higher education student associations in connection with the Foundation’s main areas of action.

Winners are given funding and technical support through the skills-based sponsorship program that harnesses Veolia group experts across the globe.
The Student Solidarity Award was created by the Veolia Foundation, in partnership with the Veolia Campus and representatives of schools and universities. The award aim to encourage the initiatives and involvement of school and university students in community-oriented projects. The award reward innovative approaches contributing to sustainable
development and the mobilization of synergies between players (co-funding, pooling of skills, etc.).
Given the international situation we are facing, The Veolia Foundation wants to enable the formidable wave of solidarity projects linked to COVID-19 or its consequences to developing. To this end, they have decided to adopt the organization of the Prize in an exceptional way in order to accompany you in the best possible way.
It will not be necessary this year for the project to start after the Student Solidarity Award Ceremony in order to be eligible. It seems to them that the solidarity projects that are currently emerging in France and abroad and that provide answers adapted to the urgency of the situation should be supported. All the projects of associations with at least one student already started or starting by June can thus compete for the Prize.

- Financial support in the form of a grant: depending on the requirements and specific features of each project, the jury shares a total grant of 10,000 euros between the three winners. The grant to the first prize winner may be smaller than the one to the second and/or the third.
- Technical support in the form of expertise, through the employee sponsorship program involving the employees of the Veolia group in France and internationally.
Eligibilities
- The Student Solidarity Award is aimed exclusively at associations (legal entities) formed by students currently pursuing their studies in schools and universities (Master’s level) in France and internationally.
- Eligible associations may have several years of existence, or maybe recently created, or even be applying for their first grant in the context of the Student Solidarity Award.
- Two or more associations can join together to submit an application for a joint project in connection with the Student Solidarity Award.
- In this case, a single association of the group will be designated to be the project leader and will be the sole interlocutor.
