The Vilcek Foundation and The Arnold P. Gold Foundation have announced an open call for nominations for the 2023 Vilcek-Gold Award for Humanism in Healthcare. Nominations will be accepted through January 31, 2023, at 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

The Vilcek-Gold Award for Humanism in Healthcare was inaugurated in 2019. The award recognizes immigrant healthcare and public health professionals whose work demonstrates a commitment to the values of humanism and to making healthcare accessible and equitable for all. The 2023 award includes a commemorative heart-shaped trophy, an unrestricted cash award of $10,000, and an invitation to present at the Association of American Medical Colleges’ Learn Serve Lead annual meeting.

The Vilcek Foundation raises awareness of immigrant contributions in the United States and fosters appreciation of the arts and sciences.

The arts and sciences need diversity to thrive. Diversity sparks dialogue. Diversity propels innovation. Diversity refines ideas. Immigrants from around the world bring the diverse perspectives that are crucial to strengthening America’s cultural and scientific community. At the Vilcek Foundation, we honor these essential contributions by recognizing the accomplishments of immigrants and advocates for immigrants in the arts and sciences.
