Continental Reinsurance Plc announced the 11th edition of the Pan-African Re/Insurance Journalism Awards (2026)—Africa’s leading platform celebrating excellence in insurance, risk, and resilience reporting—the awards honor journalists who are shaping conversations around insurance and reinsurance across the continent. Entries are invited from print, online, broadcast, and social media journalists who have published work in English, French, or Arabic.

Best Re/Insurance Social Media Entry—recognizing digital creators using social platforms to make insurance stories more accessible and engaging has added a new category for 2026.
An international judging panel comprising industry experts and academics in journalism will review and select the winning entries.
The judging panel will evaluate all submitted material according to the quality of information and how it contributes to creating a better understanding of the benefits insurance can deliver to individuals, communities, and societies at large.

Benefits
- Award winners will be honored with cash prizes of USD 1,500, USD 1,000, and USD 500, respectively, along with trophies, in recognition of their outstanding submissions.
- Award recipients are recognised at the Awards Ceremony to be held alongside an industry event and will receive a complimentary invitation to the event
- The cost of travel and hotel accommodation will be borne by Continental Re.
- The names and photos of the award recipients and the awards that they have won will be published in Continental Re’s literature and online channels to celebrate the achievements of the award winners.
- Recipients may use their award titles for their own professional development.
Eligibilities
- Entrants must be journalists based in any African country.
- They should be experienced print, online, broadcast, and social media journalists who have published work in English, French, or Arabic.

- media organisation,
- the publishing/broadcasting date,
- a brief profile together with details on their experience (50–100) ,
- a photo.
