• Global Economy After COVID-19:

The global economy being reliant primarily on workers and consumers, has taken a major hit after the COVID 19 pandemic. Most major economies will lose at least 2.9 percent of their gross domestic product (GDP) over 2020. This forecast was already restated to a GDP loss of 4.5 percent. To put this number in perspective, global GDP was estimated at around 87.55 trillion U.S. dollars in 2019 – meaning that a 4.5 percent drop in economic growth amounts to almost 3.94 trillion U.S. dollars in lost economic output. These jaw dropping figures will be the causing factor, of increased poverty recession and unemployment. The EuroZone 2008 economic loss would be a piece of cake infront of this grave depreciation.

• Mental Health; The Next Pandemic?

Mental health has taken a great toll in this current scenario, specially the active lot who were forced to stay inside for months on end with death and misery at every corner. This led to mental Health issues like anxiety, depression and what not causing unusual behavioural changes like social anxiety and germaphobia-based obsessive compulsive behaviours .Also part of pandemic included the isolation and 14 day quarantine alone which was a serious setback. The SARS global outbreak in 2003 was associated with a 30% increase in suicides in people over the age of 65. Strategies like quarantine that are necessary to minimise viral spread can have a negative psychological impact, such as causing post-traumatic stress symptoms, depression and insomnia. Job loss and financial struggles during a global economic downturn have been associated with a long-lasting decline in mental health. .

• No Poverty, A unsolved Dilemma:

Eradicating poverty in all its forms remains one of the greatest challenges facing humanity. While the number of people living in extreme poverty dropped by more than half between 1990 and 2015, too many are still struggling for the most basic human needs.

As of 2015, about 736 million people still lived on less than US$1.90 a day; many lack food, clean drinking water and sanitation. Rapid growth in countries such as China and India has lifted millions out of poverty, but progress has been uneven. Women are more likely to be poor than men because they have less paid work, education, and own less property.
Progress has also been limited in other regions, such as South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa, which account for 80 percent of those living in extreme poverty. New threats brought on by climate change, conflict and food insecurity, mean even more work is needed to bring people out of poverty.
