Call for Australia Awards Fellowship 2024/25 proposals are open now!

By fostering closer ties between Australian organizations and their regional partners, the Australia Awards Fellowships seek to expand networks of influence and leadership. Senior and mid-career officials and professionals who can lead their nations to strengthen their institutional capacity and achieve development outcomes in priority areas are the target audience for fellowships.

Australian organizations can apply for funding through Australia Awards Fellowships to host and support a variety of professional development activities, such as study tours, work attachments, supervised research, management or leadership courses, program meetings, and visits, or a combination of these. The duration of a fellowship might range from two weeks to fifty-two weeks. A Fellowship’s adaptability is one of its strongest points. They include teaching Vietnamese government officials about coastal and marine sustainability and conservation, as well as providing specialized training to Timorese physicians working in the endoscopic departments of two prestigious Australian hospitals.

Short-term study, research, and professional development opportunities in Australia are made possible by Australia Awards Fellowships, which are offered by Australian organisations. These opportunities do not result in academic certification. A competitive selection method is used to hold application rounds. Businesses, non-governmental groups, and government institutions located in Australia are all eligible to apply. In order to fund Fellowships, firms must be legitimate businesses having an Australian Business Number, be able to show that they have connections to partner organizations in the participating nations and be able to provide money or in kind.

Fellowship programs must align with the following six development priority areas:

  • Climate change, adaptation, resilience, and green energy transition
  • Gender equality, disability equity, and social inclusion
  • Health
  • Digital Economy (including cyber, critical technology, and media engagement)
  • Maritime and the Blue Economy
  • Infrastructure and connectivity
