An internship at IFAD offers a unique learning experience to recent graduates or students specializing in areas relevant to their mission. Young people provide invaluable knowledge, ideas and energy to society and the workplace. That’s why IFAD offers six-month internship opportunities to recent university graduates or current students specializing in areas of work relevant to IFAD’s mission.

Interns may pursue an additional six-month internship, accessing a different learning experience and broadening their exposure to IFAD’s areas of work.
The internship program provides a monthly allowance. Moreover, to further promote geographic diversity, IFAD offers a higher monthly allowance (contributing to housing and travel expenses) to interns from developing countries who need to travel to their duty station.

Any country that is a member of the United Nations, its specialized agencies or the International Atomic Energy Agency can become an IFAD Member State.
IFAD reduce poverty, improve nutrition and increase food production by providing loans and grants that transform rural communities. They develop solutions with governments and rural people themselves so that their investments solve the issues at hand while laying the foundations for thriving rural economies in the long-term. Their investments support those most vulnerable, including women, youth, Indigenous Peoples and persons with disabilities.

Eligibilities
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be 30 years of age or younger.
- Be enrolled in an accredited university or graduate school, have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies and have attended courses in the last 24 months; or have completed university studies at an undergraduate or postgraduate level within the last 24 months.
- Be fluent in English. Knowledge of another IFAD official language (Arabic, French or Spanish) and/or any other language may be necessary, depending on the region of assignment.
