• Fully Funded

United Nations is calling for Junior Professional Officer for Social Protection Information Management Officer.

Through USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (USAID/BHA), the United States sponsors qualified U.S. citizens for employment in the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Program.

These fully funded JPO positions strengthen the capacity of WFP and further encourage U.S. citizens to become active members of the international community. After completing their JPO assignments, a number of JPOs successfully compete for positions at WFP and in other international and non-governmental organizations.

Under the direct supervision of the Social Protection Programme Officer, the JPO will have the following responsibilities:

  • Support the development, construction, and testing of an “information management” infrastructure aligned to the requirements of the Adaptive Social Protection for Increased Resilience (ASPIRE) social safety nets project.
  • Assist in data acquisition and data set development processes, namely by identifying ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
  • Assist in the creation of appropriate tools/mechanisms to centralize, analyze, and upkeep the data flow coming from other WFP units, as well as governmental partners.
  • Preserve data integrity by providing data quality monitoring.
  • Propose and develop tracking tools in Tableau software.
  • Contribute to the development of dashboards and data dissemination products using Tableau software.
  • Develop information management products in order to communicate internally and externally ASPIRE project achievements and improve decision-making tools such as maps, fact sheets, and infographics.
  • On a monthly basis, coordinate, consolidate, and produce the “donor report factsheet.”
  • On a monthly basis, coordinate and consolidate the submission of data destined for the Food Security Sector and the Cash-Based Transfer Working Group (CBTWG).
  • Support the accountability process with local and national authorities by extracting monthly, quarterly, and semester data on program activities, and by proposing other relevant tools for sharing information.
  • Coordinate with other WFP units involved in operations (communication, monitoring and evaluation, supply chain among others) for information sharing.

The JPO will be under the direct supervision of the Social Protection Programme Officer and will receive introductory briefings about the organization and office, including security, emergency procedures, good cultural practices, and orientation to the local environment. Throughout the assignment, the supervisor will provide structured guidance, mentoring, and coaching, including a clear work plan and performance appraisal.
