The Diana Award is given out in Diana, Princess of Wales’ name to young role models, aged 9-25 from across the world who are selflessly transforming the lives of others. They are looking to recognise young people going above and beyond in their daily lives to create and sustain positive change.

- Each Diana Award recipient who is based in the UK will be invited to a local Award Ceremony. Each recipient will be presented with a personalised Diana Award certificate and celebrated with their peers. If they are unable to attend, the certificate will be sent to you by post.
- For those based outside of the UK, they will be celebrated virtually on International Youth Day, on 12th August each year.
- The UK based Diana Award recipients are also presented with an invitation to Althorp House, Princess Diana’s childhood home. These invitations are gifted to Diana Award recipients in kind by Princess Diana’s brother Earl Spencer in recognition of their continuation of Diana’s legacy.
- All Award recipients will also be given access to their Development Programme which aims to support Award recipients to further their social impact, alongside personal and professional development.
- If your nomination is successful for the Legacy Award your young person will be invited to the biennial Legacy Award Ceremony. They will also be invited to join our unique Legacy Award Development Programme.
- You will receive a resource pack via email to help you contact local press and MP to shine a spotlight on your inspirational Diana Award recipient.
- Your organization’s name will also be displayed in The Diana Award Roll of Honour and all of our press releases related to successful nominations for that year.
Eligibilities
- In order to be eligible for The Diana Award, nominees must be aged between 9 and 25 and have been carrying out their activities for a minimum of 12 months.
- Nominators must know the young person in a professional capacity, i.e. teacher, youth worker. Nominations made by family members will not be accepted.
- You will need to demonstrate how the young person has gone above and beyond their average peer and the social impact they have made in their community. For full details on the eligibility of young people for a Diana Award please review our Nomination Guide.

Application Process
- Download the Nomination Guide to support you in your application from the official link. Please note that they do not accept posted or email nominations.
- Before completing your nomination submission, please read the Terms and Conditions.
- If you’re ready to make your nomination, head to the nomination form through the Apply Now link.
- Once you have submitted your Diana Award Nomination you will receive an email notification confirming receipt so you can rest assured it has been received and is in the queue to be processed by the judging panel.
- Each Diana Award nomination will then be reviewed against the criteria by an external regional judging panel, comprising of young people, experts in the youth sector, business and educational professionals. All nominators will be contacted by the end of May 2022 with the result of their Diana Award Nomination.
