The Swedish Institute Management Program (SIMP) in Northern and Eastern Europe brings together business leaders who want to flourish in driving change for economically, environmentally and socially sustainable businesses.
Leaders of today need a well-founded understanding of the difficulty and unpredictability of current global challenges and opportunities. They are expected to act responsibly and grow their businesses more sustainably. As a participant of SIMP, one will get access to knowledge and tools that are critical for understanding sustainable and responsible business which will help one to become an even better leader for those who work with and for leading change.

SIMP builds on Sweden’s protuberant position in innovation and sustainable business and its connection to the global economy. The program provides methods, concepts and practical applications from leading experts in the key aspects of sustainability. Through this practical approach, participants will meet several companies from Sweden and the Northern and Eastern Europe region to discuss their sustainability work and discover their challenges. In addition to external experts, SIMP builds on the expertise and extensive experience within the group and creates a strong network between participants, with much time dedicated to peer learning and teambuilding.
SIMP 2021 will be an online program, where various digital tools and set-ups will give the participants a unique, varied and interactive learning experience. The digital format of SIMP enables learning to take place over an extended period, allowing time for reflection as well as the opportunity for continuous work, both individually and together with other participants. The program consists of the following activities:
- Online sessions: Interactive live sessions via online tools where participants will meet the SIMP team, their experts and fellow participants. Program content further with SIMP’s experts, with a specific focus on questions, reflections, discussions and small group tasks will be explored in this session.
- Pre-recorded material: Expert lectures and discussions that are recorded in advance so that participants can watch/listen when it fits their schedule
- Tasks (In groups and individually): Group tasks and challenges focused on sustainable business will be reoccurring during the modules to stimulate learning from peers and to test leadership skills. Participants will also have individual tasks to complete particularly in responsible leadership.
- Reflection groups: Participants will meet digitally in smaller groups to maximize learning, build supportive relationships and gain new ideas and perspectives.
- Participants’ Initiative: The SIMP Initiative is a participant’s individual opportunity to address a sustainability challenge in his/her organization. Within the program, he/she will identify the challenge to work with, involve stakeholders and colleagues as appropriate, apply own expertise and new knowledge, and receive expert coaching to move forward in solving this challenge.

Eligibilities
One is welcome to submit application if one fulfils the following:
- One aspires to make sustainability an integral part of one’s business strategy.
- One is in a leading position within trade, industry or the public sector.
- One has a mandate to influence the strategy for one’s organization.
- One wants to share and build on the competences and knowledge one gains from the program within your organization.
- One is willing to support one’s fellow participants and share experience and knowledge with them.
- One is between 25 and 45 years old (born 1976–1996).
- One has a good working knowledge of both written and spoken English.
- One has a post secondary education.
- One is a citizen and resident of Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Sweden or Ukraine.
- One is keen to take part in a highly interactive online course and look forward to connecting digitally.
