The European Commission and the European Economic and Social Committee are launching an open call for those interested to participate in the 5th meeting of the European Migration Forum, which will take place in Brussels on 3-4 April 2019.
The European Migration Forum is a platform for dialogue between civil society and European institutions on issues related to migration, asylum and integration of non-EU migrants.

The 5th edition of the Forum will focus on safe and regular migration, for both humanitarian and other reasons, including a reflection on how to implement the Global Compacts on Migration and Refugees and on the role that the civil society organisations and other local actors can play in this interaction between the international and the local dimension.

This call for expressions of interest aims to select for participation those organisations active in the field of migration whose expertise and contributions could bring added value to the European debate on the topics mentioned above. A separate selection procedure is held for each meeting of the Forum.
Eligibilities
This call for expressions of interest is open to all civil society organisations that:
- are legally based in one of the EU Member States;
- have experience in the areas listed above, at EU, national or local level;
- are able to raise awareness of the issues mentioned above in their own constituency, national and European networks; and
- commit to actively participate in the meeting and contribute to the dissemination of the results of the Forum.
Application Process
Participation in the Forum meeting is by invitation only – the call for interested organisations to express their interest to participate will be open until 14 January 2019. Please complete the form under the ‘apply now’ button.
A maximum of 120 organisations will be selected. Approximately 1/3 will be organisations active at EU level (umbrella organisations, EU networks, platforms, etc.) and 2/3 will be national, regional and local level organisations.
The European Commission and the European Economic and Social Committee are in charge of the selection procedure. The final list of participants will be approved by the Forum Bureau.
