This position is responsible for the supervision of all WCB staff in the Cox’s Bazar operations, including but not limited to project managers, project officers, accountants, logisticians, domestic staff, and drivers. Since WCB has a teaming agreement with other international agencies, the Coordinator is also responsible for the conduct, safety, and security of the staff of aid agencies, while in the Cox’s Bazar operating arena. Furthermore, any visitors from World Concern, partners, donors or other stakeholders will be under the supervision and authority of this position.

Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience

  • Christian Commitment: A deep and abiding faith that is fully surrendered to the will of Jesus Christ, evidenced by a lifestyle that is consistent with biblical principles and ongoing spiritual growth and development.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years experience implementing and/or supporting multisectoral humanitarian programming in developing countries, including camp management and interagency coordination experience. Demonstrated experience in reporting, monitoring and evaluation, statistical analysis, project cycle management, and financial management. Strong interpersonal communication skills to relate well and with authenticity to a diverse range of people. Encouraging, warm, and open relationship with others. Understanding of humanitarian code of conduct, cluster coordination and quality standards a must, with an ability to apply principles of best practice into practical programs in the field in diverse settings. Experience living in Bangladesh, or in a Muslim context.

  • Other Considerations: This could be an accompanied post, but no family support costs are provided. Accommodation in Cox’s Bazar is adequate but small and urban.
