UNDP is looking for Project Analyst (Climate and Public Financial Management) 2025 in Dhaka.

Job Responsibilities:

The Project Analyst – Climate and Public Financial Management will support the Project Manager and work closely with government agencies, UNDP teams, and stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.

1. Climate-Responsive Budgeting & Strategy

  • Assist in developing a national Climate Finance Strategy aligned with BCCSAP, NAP, and NDC.
  • Update and institutionalize climate budgeting tools with gender and equity integration.
  • Support alignment of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) with climate classification and budget systems.
  • Contribute to public finance tracking aligned with ODA standards.
  • Strengthen inter-agency coordination for climate-aligned public financial management.

2. Capacity Building & Knowledge Sharing

  • Organize trainings for Finance Division, line ministries, and local officials on climate-responsive PFM.
  • Enhance capacity of Budget Management Committees (BMCs) to promote transparency and governance.
  • Facilitate knowledge exchange and advocacy through workshops, best practices documentation, and community participation.
  • Support the development and dissemination of knowledge products and innovative learning platforms.

3. Other Duties

  • Contribute to cross-sectoral collaboration and support additional responsibilities as required by the Office or UNDP.

Eligibilities

Job Requirements:

1.Educational qualification:

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Social Science, Economics, International Relations, Environmental Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, Management, or related fields.
  • A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s) in the above fields with an additional two (2) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree.

2. Professional Experience:

  • For Master’s degree holders: No prior experience required.
  • For Bachelor’s degree holders: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in climate change and public financial management.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing climate policies, financial frameworks, and public budgeting impacts.
  • Proven experience in climate finance—tracking, allocating, and reporting sustainable development funds.
  • Strong skills in drafting analytical reports and concept notes.
  • Prior experience in engaging effectively with government, private sector, and international stakeholders.
  • Effective communication and collaboration in multicultural, international settings.
  • Experience working both independently and within a team.

3. Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and networking abilities.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in stakeholder engagement and coordination.

4.Language Proficency:

  • Fluency in English and Bangla is required.
