SCRC presents 2nd Bmarpc National Science Festival 2020 in Dhaka

SCRC is going to organize 2nd Bmarpc National Science Festival 2020 in Dhaka.

There are four groups in total:
– Junior (Class VI-VIII)
– Secondary (Class IX-X)
– Senior (Class XI-XII)
– University

The Junior Group (Class VI-VIII) can participate in these events only:
* Project Display
* Scrapbook Competition
* Wall Magazine Competition
* General Science Olympiad
* IQ Test
* Sudoku
* Rubik’s Cube Competition
* Science Fiction Story Writing Competition
* Gaming Contest

The participants from the University can participate in the following events:

* Gaming Contest
* Rubik’s Cube Competition

 

SCIENCE-BASED PROJECT DISPLAY :

There will be three groups in this competition.
* Junior (Class VI-VIII)
* Secondary (Class IX-X)
* Senior (Class XI-XII)

1) Each project can have a maximum of 3 members & a minimum of 2 members.
2) The members of a project must be from the same institution.
3) Project members have to be present in the venue with their project at least half an hour before the reporting time according to the schedule.
4) The 3 categories on which the projects will be judged are:
* Mechanical
* Non-mechanical
* IT
5) The projects will be divided into 3 categories:
* Junior (Class VI-VIII)
* Secondary (Class IX-X)
* Senior (Class XI-XII)
6) Participants must bring all necessary electronic equipment (multi-plugs, laptops etc). The organizers will not provide this equipment.
7) Participants are bound to follow any decision made by the authority of Science Club Of Rouf College during the competition.

 

SCRAPBOOK DISPLAY:

There will be three groups in this competition.
* Junior (Class VI-VIII)
* Secondary (Class IX-X)
* Senior (Class XI-XII)

Rules:
* The subject of SCRAPBOOK will have to be science-based.
* Each SCRAPBOOK can have a maximum of 1 member.

 

WALL MAGAZINE DISPLAY:

There will be three groups in this competition.
* Junior (Class VI-VIII)
* Secondary (Class IX-X)
* Senior (Class XI-XII)

Rules:
* Each wall magazine can have a maximum of 2 members
* The subject will have to be science-based.
* Maximum size: 6 feet X 8 feet.

 

TEAM BASED QUIZ:

There will be three groups in this competition.
*University
* Secondary (Class IX-X)
* Senior (Class XI-XII)

Rules-
* Spot registration will be available for all the team-based quizzes.
* Each institution can send as many teams as they like.
* Each team must consist of 3 members from the same institution.
* The competition will be held in two rounds –
i) Preliminary Written Test
ii) Final Round
* The top six scoring teams in the Preliminary Written Test will move on to the Final Round.

 

OLYMPIADS:

There will be three categories in this competition.
*Junior (Class VI-VIII)
* Secondary (Class IX-X)
* Senior (Class XI-XII)

Rules:
* Spot registration will be available for all the Olympiads.
* Each institution can send as many participants as they like.
* Participants must bring their own equipment.
* Participants must bring their ID cards. Otherwise, they will be not allowed to participate.
* Calculators are not allowed in Olympiads.
* Cell phones will have to be switched off during the Olympiads.
* Answer papers will be provided by the organizers before each Olympiad.

 

IQ TEST:

There will be three categories in this competition.
* Junior (Class VI-VIII)
* Secondary (Class IX-X)
* Senior (Class XI-XII)

Rules:
* Spot registration will be available for the IQ test.
* Cell phones will have to be switched off in the examination hall.
* Participants must bring their own equipment.

 

SUDOKU:

There will be three categories in this competition.
* Junior (Class VI-VIII)
* Secondary (Class IX-X)
* Senior (Class XI-XII)

Rules:
* Spot registration will be available for the Sudoku contest.
* Cell phones will have to be switched off in the examination hall.
* Participants will have to bring their own equipment.

 

RUBIK’S CUBE COMPETITION:

There will be three categories in this competition.
* School (Class VI-X)
* College (Class XI-XII)
* University

Rules:
* Spot registration will be available.
* Participants will have to bring their own cubes.
* Time will be given for inspection.
* There will be 2 or more rounds depending on the number of participants.
* If someone’s cube gets broken, he/she will be disqualified automatically.

SCIENCE FICTION STORY WRITING:

There will be two categories in this competition.
*School (Class VI-X)
* College (Class XI-XII)

Rules:
* Spot registration will be available.
* An intro will be given; participants will have to complete the story using their own imagination.
* Cell phones will have to be switched off in the examination hall.
* Stories will have to be unique.
* Copying plot from existing works of science fiction will not be acceptable

 

PROGRAMMING CONTEST :

There will be two categories in this competition
*Secondary (9-10)
*Senior (11-12)

Rules:
*The participants are to participate individually and not in teams.
*The contest will be held in an online platform and the users must have a vjudge account.
*There will be 5 programming problems and the contest time will be two hours.
*Any use of digital devices other than the provided computer is strictly prohibited.
*Mobile phones are to be kept silent.
*The participants are not allowed to use any kind of external storage device to get any help during the contest ie. pdf and docx and another type of documents are not allowed to use.
*Participants are not allowed to visit any other website other than the judging website.
*Participants are allowed to bring printed copies and books.
*Any decision of the S.C.R.C. authority will be the final one.
*The participants are strictly prohibited to change any settings of the computer.
*Any proof of trying to violate the rules will lead to disqualification.

 

CRIMINAL IDENTIFICATION:

There will be two groups in this competition.
*Secondary (IX-X)
*Senior (XI-XII)

Rules:
*Cell phones will have to be switched off in the examination hall.
* Participants will have to bring their own equipment to the examination hall.

Important Notes:

*Science Club of Rouf College” only the authority reserves the right to select the time, venue, subject, judges and mentors. Objections should be notified to the Science Club.
* In the competitions, the judge’s decision is to be accepted as the final judgment. No objection from participants will be acknowledged concerning these matters.
* All the students must wear College Uniform along with the institution’s ID Card in the festival.
* All participants from different institutions are requested to follow the rules and regulations stated above and help “Science Club of Rouf College” make this event a successful one.

Application Process

There will be no Spot registration available for Criminal Case. Participants must have to complete their registration through their institute.

Please contact your college authorities to register for the Festival through the invitation letter that will have been sent to your respective institutions.
