Job Responsibilities:
- Utilize SIEM and SOAR platforms to maintain an edge over threat actors.
- Build and refine parsers, detection rules, and playbooks to enhance efficiency.
- Integrate new data sources and contribute to system health monitoring.
- Serve as Incident Commander, leading security incident response.
- Work with Product and Legal teams to assess, mitigate, and contain threats.
- Build automated workflows to streamline alert triage and incident handling.
- Initiate and ship new projects weekly, iterate quickly, and focus on results.
- Stay current with new technologies, perform threat hunts, and share knowledge.
- Participate in pair sessions, code reviews, and provide actionable updates to leadership.

Eligibilities
Job Requirements:
- Experience writing efficient detections and automations in product-focused technical companies like Shopify.
- Lead technical responder or participant in large-scale, complex incident response in cloud-based or zero-trust environments.
- Strong analytical and data literacy skills to identify threats in complex environments.
- Proactive mindset to anticipate threats and build detections before they can be exploited.
- Enthusiastic about scalable, reproducible security management.
- Self-motivated, creative problem-solver with the ability to work independently.
- Strong collaborator in high-stress, team-based situations.
- Skilled in managing competing priorities and establishing order quickly.
- Deep knowledge of SIEM and SOAR solutions.
- Extensive experience in threat hunting, incident response, and incident management.
- Expertise in enterprise security controls (IAM, RBAC, EDR) in cloud and on-prem environments.
- Familiar with application security and e-commerce security threats.
- Familiar with ISO 27001/27002 or the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (desirable).
