For the first time in South Asia Pathshala South Asian Media Institute is now offering B.S.S. on photography for the undergraduate students who are planning to pursue their career in the field of Photography and media studies. It is a four year long graduation programme under the affiliation of University of Dhaka. Pathshala, department of photography is currently accepting application for the session 2018-19.

Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) in Photography is an eight-semester (four years), 128-credit program. Students will complete 32 courses. This program will prepare students for a career in the wide and enormous arena of photography within the traditional media sectors especially at the stage of emerging new digital age. In addition, the graduates will able to apply their knowledge and skills to serve the huge demand of photography sector in business, development and related areas. This course will enable students to keep learning for life as well as for higher studies in the disciplines taught at home or abroad. The course will provide graduates with the ability to continually adapt & grasp to new life and work situations.

Eligibilities
A candidate having at least 12-year schooling from relevant discipline can apply for undergraduate admission, if s/he can satisfy any of the following conditions:
Eligible Regions: Bangladesh
- S/he has a minimum GPA of 2.5 at both SSC and HSC levels.
- S/he has a GPA of less than 2.5 at SSC or HSC level, but the combined GPA at both levels is at least 6.0 provided that GPA at any level is not less than 2.0.
- S/he is a ward of freedom fighter(s), and the combined GPA at SSC and HSC levels is at least 5.0 but not less than 2.0 at any level.
- S/he has a minimum GPA of 2.5 in four subjects at “O” level and 2.5 in two subjects at “A” level in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, and E=1.
Application Process
- Admission Test: Prospective students will have to face admission test (both written and oral) before getting enrolled in the program.
- The students are requested to collect the application form the Information Office of the photography department by paying BDT 200.
