WFP is looking for Programme Policy Officer – VAM 2024 in Cox’s Bazaar.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead in various data collection and analysis tools development relevant to food security, nutrition and disaster preparedness using verifiable vulnerability analysis techniques.
- Coordinate food security monitoring systems within RAM unit and also with key stakeholders to ensure provision of early warning on the emerging situations.
- Organize and provide training in the use of RAM techniques and tools to WFP staff, partners and Government personnel and ensure dissemination of RAM techniques in programming, targeting, prioritization, and monitoring.
- Facilitate and participate in disaster preparedness, management, and contingency planning using RAM techniques.
- Lead the process of ensuring that data gathering and monitoring systems maintain rigorous quality standards in line with wider RAM policies, processes and guidance.
- Research and analyse policy and operational issues to support the development of policies, programmes and activities.
- Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on programmes and activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
- Support the identification, development, and management of potential partnerships to collaborative working leading to improved food assistance packages.
- Lead the review of food security and nutrition data and system and make recommendation for improvement of Food Security Monitoring System including consideration for gender, disability, age disaggregation.
- Guide and supervise a team of support staff by providing advice, guidance, and training to ensure that both individual and team objectives are met according to agreed standards and deadlines.
- Contribute to regular market assessments including the use of the Market Functionality Index tool to evaluate CBT interventions, determine appropriate transfer values, and analyze supply chains to inform cash-based programming.

Eligibilities
Job Requirements:
- Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance.
- At least five years experience in food security, vulnerability analysis or a closely related area, such as food security information management systems with minimum three years at professional level.
- Fluency (level C) in English language and Bangla.
- Knowledge of Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
- Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative survey techniques and demonstrated experience with statistical analysis.
- Has experience in surveys, multiple food security and nutrition assessments, including the design, data collection and analysis to inform decision making.
- Has solid track record of report writing.
- Advanced skills in statistical analysis using statistical software and data visualization packages (experienced user of SPSS, STATA or R; preferably experience with Tableau or similar software).
