UN CAREER is looking for Project Technical Officer- NPSA 8 2023 in Dhaka

Job Responsibilities:

The Project Technical Officer will be responsible for supporting the Increased climate resilience planning for municipal water resources in Lebanon Project. The specific functions/responsibilities include:

  • Technical Tasks:

Assist in preparing scope, detailed work plan with clear objectives, activities, deliverables, budget, ToRs, final outputs and risks including social and environmental risks. Coordinate and track all project activities including tasks of the consultants and companies, contractual arrangements, payment terms and requirements in coordination with UNDP Ensures transparency, responsibility, and accountability in M&E and reporting of project results. Undertake research related to the implementation of the project activities (water management in Lebanon, climate risk and vulnerability assessments, monitoring of adaptation action, linkage between subnational adaptation plans and NDC, etc.) Ensure synergies between project’s activities with existing national priorities, programmes and plans (LEDs, NAMA, NDC) and build complementarity between initiatives.  Map key stakeholders paying attention to the inclusion of women’s groups, Youth  and most vulerable groups Assist in liaising with national and subnational institutions and experts in order to improve data availability and institutional arrangements for NAP development and climate risk assessments  Review the submitted drafts and final reports of consultants and ensure that they are in compliance with the Terms of References, Adaptation guidelines and GCF guidelines Raise awareness of the GCF opportunities and funding options for CCA Disseminate results of readiness projects to relevant stakeholders and policy makers Assist the NDA with GCF and CCA related issues Identify and pursue parallel activities related to project, when required Assist in the preparation of proposals and other resource mobilization activities Assist in the follow up on GCF board activities when required and as instructed by the Project Manager/Advisor

  • Coordination tasks

Assist the PM in preparing project budget, TOR for subcontracts, technical specifications and other documents as necessary; Draft inception, progress and final reports in line with NDA, GCF and UNDP reporting requirements. Manage and centralize all project information and reports provided by consultants and other data sources Prepare for meetings and presentations as needed.  Facilitate and moderate workshops and focus group discussion when needed Informs the Project Board, the UNDP Country Office and the Project Manager/Advisor of any delays or difficulties as they arise during implementation so that appropriate support and corrective measures can be adopted. Perform additional tasks, within scope of work and as required by the NDA and Project Manager/Advisor.
